Very Special Arts Gallery
Art without boundaries

A Special Initiative of VSA arts of New Mexico

The Very Special Arts Gallery presents exhibitions celebrating the creative power of artists with disabilities.

The arts provide an avenue for expressing the experience of having a disability and provide one of the most important articulations of the lives of persons with disabilities.   The Gallery opens the doors to VSA arts, showcasing the lively and expressive art created in the Enabled Studio Arts Program and selected work by other artists with disabilities.  "Visionary, outsider, insightful, vibrant, powerful" are just a few of the words used to describe the work exhibited in the on-site Gallery at the VSA arts Center of New Mexico and in community settings throughout New Mexico.

The Gallery also offers professional development opportunities for emerging artists including career development workshops, training in the business of art from matting and framing to curating and sales, and work experience, supported employment, volunteer, and internship venues.    Annual exhibition schedules explore the depth of disability culture and illustrate that there are no limits to the creative expression of any individual.

"Your invitation to celebrate the artist in all of us!"
